IHSE’s K480-576 Matrix awarded “Best of Show” from AV Technology at InfoComm 2015

The on-site judging processing was completed by a panel of AV-industry experts who evaluated products against multiple criteria including innovation; performance against category standards; richness/relevance of features and value/ROI.

The K480-576 is a high performance, modular enterprise-sized matrix system for complete signal distribution of high definition video, audio, and data over twisted-pair copper, multi-mode fiber, or singlemode fiber. Each K480-576 frame can be configured as either a bi-directional HD-KVM switch for video and data or as a high definition video routing switcher for DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort, and VGA. Other high definition video signals such as HD-SDI, 3G-SDI and USB 3.0 are supported with the optional UNI-IO high speed I/O plug-in cards. Using the XV fiber cards for DisplayPort the K480-576 offers tremendous scalability with cost effective features supporting Ultra High Definition up to 4K at 4096 x 2160 resolutions.

It offers the industry first Mix & Match function to allow switching freely between UTP (Cat 5e/6) extenders and fiber optic extenders. Accordingly, switching signals from Cat 5e/6 devices to fiber optic devices is possible as well – offering perfect signal transmission at any time. For System Installers, designs can now accommodate copper interconnects within local server rooms where multiple computers are centralized while extending interconnects to different locations over fiber for workstations or command centers located up to 10km away.

The K480-576 is a 25RU chassis supporting full redundant power and hot swappable modules for full service and field upgrades without interrupting signal flow. Additionally, the matrix can support dual controller cards. With the advanced control interface, operators have the option to manage switching through an OSD (on screen display), a browser-based Java™ tool, or an RS-232 serial interface. The frame can also be controlled via any third party external control system with the available API protocol design package.
